The finishing touches were added to the very first Pegasus Float back in 1978.

40 years later, and with more than 4000 Pegasus trailers, trucks and special application vehicles on the road throughout Australia and overseas, Pegasus are still proud to be a family owned business producing custom made floats of the highest levels of design and quality.

Built from the ground up, Pegasus maintains strict personal supervision over all aspects of manufacture, from the construction of our own chassis and steel sheeted bodies to the hand finished interiors and living areas. To ensure that all Pegasus products meet the tough demands they are built for, today and for many years to come, we pay exceptional attention to detail, from initial design to the superb, fade-resistant paintwork that is now a hallmark of the Pegasus name. To this extent we even offer a 5-year warranty on our galvanised steel framework.

John and Helen Nicholls, the founders and principals of Pegasus Floats possess a wealth of experience and knowledge, Helen having been a horse owner since childhood while John, a fitter and turner by trade, started out in aviation and marine engineering. Through John's technical expertise and Helen's passionate knowledge of horses, Pegasus customers can be assured of receiving expert advice about our many models, features and options along with the superior craftsmanship that goes into each and every Pegasus float.

Always looking to the future, Pegasus are now proud to introduce fully imported horse trucks from Europe that also meet John’s exacting standards.  Whether it’s a race horse transporter or competition truck with full living, we work directly with the manufacturers in Europe to ensure that your truck is custom built for our demanding Australian conditions.
